About Mark Payne

Mark Payne is the Owner and CFO of Payne Auto Group, the family business he grew up in. The challenges and difficulties of running automotive dealerships turned out to be the work he loved. Since 2008 he has worked his way up through the group. He started as a BDC director, moved into sales management, became General Manager of Payne Rio Ford, then ran four of the group's stores as platform manager before serving as co-COO and, today, CFO.

As CFO he leads both the group's finances and its security program, because the people whose information the stores hold are the same people who trust the stores with their money and their cars.

Away from work he loves learning, reading, mathematics, problems, games, and animals, and he can't help carrying them into the job: what he learns in one place he puts to use in another, and the best ideas in the business have usually come from somewhere outside it.
